About the position

As the Operations and Engagement Coordinator for Buckner Shoes for Orphan Souls (SOS), you will play a crucial role in impacting the lives of children, families, and senior adults. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the incoming shoe drive experience and oversee assigned relationships or shoe drive events. You will implement strategies that promote the purpose of Buckner Shoes for Orphan Souls® and the broader mission of Buckner International. This position requires a proactive approach to support the organization through various administrative and operational duties. In this role, you will actively manage assigned shoe drive relationships and community events, ensuring that the initiatives align with the marketing plans of SOS and Buckner. You will be responsible for recruiting shoe drive participants in specific geographical areas, providing support to the Director of Buckner Shoes for Orphan Souls® on strategic shoe drive events, and facilitating events and conferences that promote collaborative opportunities. As a liaison for Buckner Shoes for Orphan Souls conferences and events, you will give presentations and serve as a spokesperson for the organization. Additionally, you will maintain a comprehensive database for shoe drives, updating donor records as necessary. Planning and managing shoe collection operations at assigned SOS special events will also be part of your duties. You will provide general administrative support to the SOS team, which includes researching and analyzing data to produce monthly reports. The role may require domestic and international travel to manage assigned accounts and promote the growth of the SOS program, necessitating the maintenance of appropriate travel documentation. You may also be tasked with performing special assignments, projects, and other duties as required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the incoming shoe drive experience and assigned relationships or shoe drive events.
  • Implement strategies that promote the purpose of Buckner Shoes for Orphan Souls® and the mission of Buckner International.
  • Actively support Buckner Shoes for Orphan Souls® through administrative and operational duties.
  • Recruit shoe drive participants in specific geographical areas according to SOS and Buckner marketing plans.
  • Support the Director of Buckner Shoes for Orphan Souls® on strategic shoe drive events.
  • Provide support for events and conferences promoting shoe drive collaborative opportunities.
  • Serve as a liaison for Buckner Shoes for Orphan Souls conferences and events, giving presentations as assigned.
  • Maintain a database for shoe drives, updating donor records as needed.
  • Plan and manage shoe collection operations at assigned SOS special events.
  • Provide general administrative support to the SOS team, including research and data analysis for monthly reports.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as needed to manage assigned accounts and promote the SOS program.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (or G.E.D.) required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • In-depth understanding of a comprehensive field of knowledge normally associated with the attainment of a Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • 2 years prior related experience working with volunteers in grassroots efforts or special events fundraising preferred.
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Some experience with Raiser's Edge, virtuous database or similar systems is highly desirable.
  • Proficient working knowledge of computer-related tasks with specific software applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in managing community events and volunteer coordination.
  • Familiarity with fundraising strategies and community outreach programs.
