About the position

Amentum is seeking a highly qualified Operations and Global Force Management (GFM) Analyst to provide real-time operational support, research, analysis, and assessments in support of U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM). This position is based at Camp H.M. Smith, HI, and is ideal for candidates who thrive in a dynamic and mission-focused environment. The successful candidate will work across multiple stakeholders to identify optimal solutions for complex problems, leveraging their operational leadership skills and GFM expertise, particularly in Joint and Army operations. In this role, the analyst will be responsible for planning, staffing, and actionable items in conjunction with the Joint Staff for the Global Force Management Implementation Guidance (GFMIG) and the Global Force Management Allocation Plan (GFMAP). The analyst will provide critical analysis on force capabilities primarily within the Army to the USINDOPACOM Combatant Commander and other Combatant Commands (COCOMs). This includes staffing mobilization and deployment of joint forces from the USA, USMC, USAF, and USN, coordinating deployment orders for USINDOPACOM, and supporting various operational plans and campaigns. The analyst will also be tasked with providing operational recommendations for Component GFM plans, leading efforts to enhance processes and procedures, and supporting the management of force deployments throughout the INDOPACOM Area of Responsibility. This role requires effective communication with senior Flag and General Officers for operational decisions, as well as collaboration with Joint Staff Action Officers to convey Commanders' requirements related to force allocation. The analyst will develop and implement plans aimed at improving operational effectiveness and efficiency, and will be responsible for writing various operational documents including Requests for Forces, Operations Orders, Deployment Orders, Task Orders, and Executive Orders. Additionally, the analyst will provide recommendations to staff in resolving operational issues and updates.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the planning, staffing, and actionable items in conjunction with the Joint Staff for the Global Force Management Implementation Guidance (GFMIG) and the Global Force Management Allocation Plan (GFMAP).
  • Provide analysis on force capabilities primarily within the Army to the USINDOPACOM Combatant Commander and other COCOMs, while staffing mobilization and deployment of joint forces from the USA, USMC, USAF, and USN with the Joint Staff and all the Services.
  • Coordinate deployment orders for USINDOPACOM to include support for OPLANS, Flexible Deterrent Operations (FDO), and the Theater Campaign Plan (TCP).
  • Provide operational recommendations for Component GFM plans and lead the effort to enhance processes and procedures.
  • Conduct analysis and support for the management of force deployments throughout the INDOPACOM Area of Responsibility.
  • Provide analysis and support for the allocation of USINDOPACOM assigned forces' deployments worldwide.
  • Brief senior Flag and General Officers for operational decisions.
  • Communicate with Joint Staff Action Officers to convey Commanders' requirements related to force allocation.
  • Coordinate with components to ensure alignment of force requirements per Commanders' Guidance.
  • Develop and implement plans to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Write Requests for Forces, Operations Orders, Deployment Orders, Task Orders, and Executive Orders.
  • Provide recommendations to staff in resolving operational issues, updates, ideas, and problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • At least 10 years of combined experience supporting the Department of Defense (DoD).
  • Experience in operational planning and Global Force Management (GFM) in support of Army operations.
  • Knowledge of USINDOPACOM, Component and OSD processes, procedures, and requirements to integrate stakeholders with INDOPACOM efforts and outcomes.
  • Proficient at authoring analytical and/or policy documents.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to provide information and operations support to USINDOPACOM personnel.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Must have an active Top Secret clearance and be SCI eligible.

Nice-to-haves

  • At least 3 years of experience in Global Force Management.
  • At least 2 years of experience working in the USINDOPACOM AOR.
  • At least 2 years of experience on a military staff office (Service HQ, Combatant Command, OSD, JS).
  • Familiar with USARPAC Headquarters structure and processes.
  • Master's Degree from an accredited college or university or Graduation from a military command and staff college.
  • Joint Professional Military Education (JPME).
