About the position

The Operations and Materials Coordinator at Colgate-Palmolive Company is responsible for enhancing operational efficiency and managing materials within the plant. This role involves driving continuous improvement initiatives, overseeing production schedules, and ensuring effective communication across various teams. The coordinator will also manage inventory, maintain master data, and support quality initiatives to facilitate the smooth operation of the plant.

Responsibilities

  • Drives improvement in team performance through effective communications to all levels of the Operation team and individual stakeholders.
  • Responsible for plant processes, asset utilization, and operational efficiency.
  • Leads continuous improvement for plant processes working with Plant Engineers on asset utilization and operation efficiency.
  • Furthers and develops positive relationships with the Engineering, EHS, and Quality Systems department.
  • Drives Continuous Improvement initiatives in EHS, Quality, and Factory Performance and Reliability to enhance business performance.
  • Oversight of the weekly/daily/monthly schedules for the Pilot Plant.
  • Supervises plant operational dashboard and KPIs and ensures regular communication with Plant Manager and other stakeholders.
  • Leads and coordinates manufacturing needs to ensure that the plant adheres to production schedules to meet the needs of the R&D team.
  • Supports Quality initiatives for efficient process implementation of new product start-up and timely completion of bi-annual SOP reviews.
  • Supports the implementation of Factory Performance & Reliability standards within the teams.
  • Reviews demand to develop a production schedule to meet customer demands while considering preventive maintenance, logistics, and capacity constraints.
  • Maintains open lines of communication with key customers, internal teams, cross-functional teams, and vendors to deliver continuous improvement for the PTC.
  • Participates on Continuous Improvement Teams to drive higher levels of performance, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Creates and maintains all master data like material masters, production planning Bill of Materials, Rate Routing, and Production Orders.
  • Handles inventory of finished goods and orders raw and packaging materials to support effective operations.
  • Runs the inventory accuracy of all raw and packaging materials.
  • Defines accurate MRP data for each material to improve efficiencies and minimize cost and waste.
  • Manages PTC Materials delivery/returns to ensure no impact on production.
  • Handles 3rd party providers and supports plant initiatives through involvement in activities/functions outside of Materials Planning.
  • Develops and trains personnel on the technical and correct usage of SAP transactions and material consumptions/inventory management.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in engineering, technical, business, logistics, or relevant work experience.
  • 2-3 years experience in engineering with production management experience.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Manufacturing/plant experience and/or experience in other GSC functions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with Company practices related to EHS, Quality and Microbiology, and plant financials.
  • Understanding of Capital Management System or something similar.
