About the position

The Operations and Special Projects Coordinator position within the Office of eHealth Innovation (OeHI) in the Office of the Lieutenant Governor is a vital role aimed at advancing innovative Health Information Technology (IT) projects in Colorado. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing operational support to OeHI, which includes administrative assistance to the Director of OeHI. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, the ability to manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously, and a strong commitment to health equity. The coordinator will engage in various activities such as scheduling appointments, managing meeting logistics, and assisting with daily operations, including budget management and communications. The position also involves fielding inquiries, scheduling travel, creating reimbursement requests, and preparing briefing materials. Additionally, the coordinator will support the eHealth Commission and workgroup meetings, organize correspondence, and coordinate with the Office of the Lieutenant Governor to align with office and OeHI priorities. Special projects may also be assigned by the OeHI Director, which could include organizing team events and representing OeHI in strategic meetings. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of OeHI and supporting its mission to enhance health care delivery in Colorado.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison between OeHI, the Department of Health Care Policy and Financing (HCPF), state agencies, and community partners.
  • Schedule appointments, meetings, events, and travel details for the Director of OeHI, OeHI Deputy Director, and OeHI project team.
  • Organize and track correspondence and office materials.
  • Prepare and distribute agendas and project materials for meetings.
  • Supervise interns and manage their projects.
  • Create briefing and communication materials, including drafting and circulating newsletters.
  • Draft briefing materials and memos for senior elected officials.
  • Field and direct website, webform, and email inquiries.
  • Coordinate logistics for eHealth Commission and workgroup meetings.
  • Develop and deliver communications, including website development.
  • Coordinate and track funding requests, contracts, and budgets.
  • Assist the OeHI Director in day-to-day operations and activities.
  • Support stakeholder meetings.
  • Manage special projects and other duties as requested by the OeHI Director.

Requirements

  • Two or more years of work experience.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information and interact collaboratively with a diverse audience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Prior team/supervisory experience is desirable.
  • Experience in health care and health IT is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Google Suite and calendar management.
  • Knowledge of health information technology and its applications in public health.
