About the position

The Operations Applications Analyst is responsible for maintaining and enhancing various software systems within the Distribution Center at Klein Tools. This role focuses on increasing productivity and maximizing efficiency by managing the Warehouse Management System, creating reports, performing audits, and collaborating with the IT department to resolve system issues. The analyst will also assist in implementing World Class Principles to improve customer satisfaction and lean manufacturing standards.

Responsibilities

  • Set-up and maintain items in the Warehouse Management System to manage product flow.
  • Create daily and monthly reports and provide analysis, including query reports for different departments.
  • Perform random audits of item dimensions and weights to ensure order accuracy.
  • Conduct audits on the floor and check item locations in the system as needed.
  • Prepare operational support manuals and written procedures for software/hardware used.
  • Analyze and investigate system issues, communicate with IT, and develop recommendations for action.
  • Assist in implementing World Class Principles to improve customer satisfaction and lean manufacturing standards.
  • Perform other duties as required within the nature and level of work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or Engineering with 1 to 2 years of experience in a computerized distribution environment, or a High School diploma with 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and warehouse management systems.
  • Experience with IMI Series (AS400) and Boss is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to identify problems with anomalous data.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to troubleshoot and analyze data.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a distribution environment.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
