About the position

The Operations Manager at Cargill will oversee all production and operational processes at the Dayton facility, focusing on strategic operational oversight. This role emphasizes a culture of continuous improvement with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and financial performance, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Ensure employee, food safety, and environmental compliance program standards and goals are implemented.
• Accountable for all internal and external operating and regulatory procedures on employee and food safety.
• Establish and deploy operational priorities for the designated area of the Dayton facility.
• Lead strategic and tactical operations and quality management deliverables to meet customer, product, and quality standards.
• Direct and control operating budgets to achieve financial performance objectives.
• Hold direct reports accountable for meeting and controlling operating expenses and established targets.
• Oversee operational management and implement efficiency improvements, including standardization of manufacturing systems and best practices.
• Lead and develop a team, making decisions related to talent management, hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions.

Requirements

• Right to work in the U.S. not based solely on a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of four years of related work experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Lean manufacturing experience.
• Two years of supervisory experience.
• Experience working in a food and/or poultry processing environment.
• Professional animal auditor certification (PAACO) or experience ensuring animal welfare.
• Experience utilizing SAP.
