About the position

As an Operations Associate III in the Mutual Funds team at Royal Bank of Canada, you will be responsible for ensuring that Mutual Fund business is processed efficiently and accurately. This role involves direct interaction with Mutual Fund companies and Financial Advisors, providing exceptional customer service while managing paperwork and data entry with a high level of attention to detail. Responsibilities

  • Research, respond to, and follow up on questions from other Operations departments, branch offices, Mutual Fund companies, and management staff.
  • Accurately review, verify, and record data into technology supporting department processes.
  • Understand department procedures, processes, and required accountabilities in the area of work.
  • Refer to department manuals for instructions and task assignments.
  • Provide routine follow-up to check on the status of mutual funds business from various Mutual Fund companies.
  • Suggest process changes and modifications to reduce risk.
  • Act as a resource for other Operations team members.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree from an accredited university or equivalent, or a high school diploma and 2 years of job-related experience.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and think critically.
  • Strong PC skills with knowledge of the Microsoft Office package.
  • Excellent customer service and telephone skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience balancing/reconciling accounts.
  • Brokerage back office operations experience.
  • Ability to integrate Excel and Access databases into daily work.
