About the position

The Operations Associate at Maersk Warehousing and Distribution USA LLC is responsible for managing freight forwarding shipments across various transportation modes, ensuring high operational excellence and quality customer service. This role involves tracking shipments, communicating with customers and carriers, and maintaining station KPIs, all while working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Tracking and tracing outbound shipments
• Inspecting outbound freight
• Contracting new carriers as needed and assigning carriers
• Communicating freight status and any problems to other stations and customers
• Updating the system with shipment information
• Providing customer service
• Data entry of shipments into transportation management system
• Quoting, costing, and invoicing of international shipments
• Domestic air and ground routing including Canada
• Negotiating freight rates
• Developing collaborative carrier relationships
• Finding and developing new logistics/freight opportunities

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Typing speed of 35+ words per minute
• Ability to work in a demanding, high-volume environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft products
• Tech-savvy
