About the position

The Operations Business Analyst is responsible for assessing and analyzing the business environment to define and document business requirements, capturing and communicating challenges and opportunities. This role involves identifying solutions, managing stakeholder expectations, and ensuring deliverables align with business needs to support Operations Tools and Systems. The position reports to the Senior Staff Engineer, Operations Tools and Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead activities related to the requirements, design, development, and deployment of operations assurance processes.
  • Apply business knowledge to effectively understand, document, and communicate requirements that define project's scope.
  • Experience implementing EH&S applications/solutions in oil and gas, especially with assurance/auditing and process safety.
  • Identify inefficiencies in business processes and recommend improvements.
  • Analyze existing processes, workflows, systems, and applications; create as-is and to-be internal business processes.
  • Assess system specifications and provide feedback on potential gaps and prioritization.
  • Help identify and manage gaps and inefficiencies in operations assurance business processes.
  • Engage project stakeholders and end users throughout the project life cycle, including definition, requirement development, testing, training, implementation, and post-go-live phases.
  • Evaluate vendor partners/solutions and assist in coordination of implementation efforts.
  • Assist with process improvements focusing on people, process, and technology.
  • Support the development of a culture of safety, compliance, and operational excellence.
  • Provide technical guidance to create training materials, brochures, surveys, and reports.
  • Assist in the development, execution, and evaluation of change strategies and initiatives, including communication and training plans.
  • Develop, track, and maintain change management metrics.
  • Coordinate and plan change management activities in support of IT and the business.
  • Assist with the maintenance and implementation of a resistance management plan for element owners and key process owners.
  • Assist with collaborative workshops and work relationships focusing on solution quality and organizational acceptance.
  • Assist with the continuous development and implementation of Operations Tools and Systems in alignment with company strategy.

Requirements

  • Experience in business analysis within operations tools and systems.
  • Strong understanding of EH&S applications/solutions in the oil and gas sector.
  • Proven experience in process optimization and identifying inefficiencies.
  • Ability to analyze and document business processes and workflows.
  • Strong communication skills to engage stakeholders and end users effectively.
  • Experience in change management and developing training materials.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with operations assurance processes in the oil and gas industry.
  • Experience with vendor evaluation and implementation coordination.
  • Knowledge of safety and compliance culture development.
