You will be part of the 9th Air Force (9AF) United States Air Force Central Command (AFCENT), which is the Air Force Service Component of United States Central Command (USCENTCOM), a joint Department of Defense combatant command responsible for U.S. security interests in 27 nations that stretch from the Horn of Africa through the Persian Gulf region, into Central Asia. This position supports the 9th AF Chief of Staff. In your role as Operations Center, Assistant Operations Analyst, you will assist the COC Lead Operations Analysts with consulting, advisory and analytical services for the day-to-day management of the USAFCENT Command Operations Center (COC) with a focus on monitoring, analyzing, reporting and coordinating USAFCENT mission activities in the Area of Operations on a 24/7 basis. You will also support two personnel during all shifts to support directed requirements. Additionally, you will provide 24/7 support to the staff director and lead operations analyst for accomplishing varied and numerous day-to-day analytical expertise. You will consolidate and provide input into operational briefings or briefing books to Commander, USAFCENT, and senior staff. Inform senior USAFCENT staff from either briefings or briefing binders of ongoing theater operations or issues. You will provide instructions for operating existing and future command and control equipment in the COC, including analyzing and formatting data on the digital video recording system (DVR) and creating digitized computer files suitable to send to senior leadership to enhance notification of key AOR events. You will design, implement, and administer comprehensive database solutions for use by the USAFCENT Operations Center. You will assist with management of the USAFCENT TMT and the management of the USAFCENT knowledge environment, information exchange, and collaborative situation (e.g. SharePoint websites, file management system) such that historical and current operational files and related media are tracked, stored, and maintained. You will maintain a firm grasp on information flow requirements to include mission, operations, and commander's intent. You will serve as Crisis Action Team coordinating element and assist the RFI Manager in support of the USAFCENT staff. Finally, you will maintain and update consolidated USAFCENT senior staff phone rosters and email distribution lists on the AFCENT networks and track status of RFIs and short notice taskers on behalf of the Chief of Staff.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship
  • An active TS/SCI clearance
  • A HS Diploma or GED
  • 3 years' experience in a numbered Air Force or component command staff level or higher or other service equivalents
  • 1 year experience in the use of Microsoft Office applications/e-mail systems or the equivalent
  • The ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
