About the position

The Operations Center Specialist plays a crucial role in monitoring and managing critical events to ensure the safety and well-being of employees and assets. This position involves acting as a central point for incident management, threat assessment, and communication, utilizing social media monitoring tools, and providing timely guidance to impacted teams. The role requires a detail-oriented and analytical individual who can thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle sensitive information with care.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and managing incidents that may impact employees, assets, and drivers.
  • Assessing credible threat calls from employees and involving necessary parties.
  • Utilizing social media listening tools to track events impacting customers or employees.
  • Communicating market incidents to impacted teams in a timely manner.
  • Monitoring incidents affecting employees traveling for work and communicating broadly when necessary.
  • Evaluating incidents near field locations and guiding necessary actions.
  • Effectively communicating with diverse audiences, including varying levels of seniority.
  • Documenting incident alerts accurately in real time.
  • Responding to internal feedback and inquiries professionally and quickly.
  • Understanding the importance of privacy and handling sensitive information with care.
  • Being available to handle situations outside of standard working hours.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience as a business data specialist or in similar functions.
  • Experience in safety and/or de-escalation is a plus.
  • Experience working with sensitive information.
  • Ability to make independent decisions within a broad procedural framework.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and function in a solo schedule.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Self-sufficient, highly motivated, and eager to learn new technologies and industries.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Affinity for technology solutions (hardware & software).
  • Exceptional internet research and social media skills.
  • Knowledge of and interest in monitoring current events.
  • Experience supporting 24/7 operations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience in emergency/incident management, business continuity, or related fields.
  • Experience in ride-sharing or a start-up environment.
