About the position

The Operations Clerk position at the Youth Center on Grand Forks AFB involves providing clerical, administrative, and cash handling support for the School Age Program and Youth Program. The role requires maintaining accurate records, assisting with customer service, and ensuring compliance with contracts. The incumbent will also be responsible for financial reporting and inventory management, while ensuring a safe environment for children.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director in the School Age Program and Youth Program with clerical and administrative duties.
  • Perform general office duties such as receiving calls, typing correspondence, and maintaining files.
  • Provide general information and answer questions at the customer service counter.
  • Ensure contracts are compliant and properly filed.
  • Input payroll information and work schedules into the system, running end-of-day reports daily.
  • Compute daily labor costs and record income and expenses, providing financial status reports to the Director.
  • Consolidate monthly inventories and assist in the Youth Center's monthly and yearly inventories.
  • Research irregularities and recommend actions to the Director.
  • Review delinquent accounts and assist in resolving billing discrepancies.
  • Prepare daily financial documentation for processing and make daily deposits upon approval.
  • Prepare requests for advertising to publicize programs.
  • Train new employees on cash handling procedures.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Knowledge of computer systems for basic entry and retrieval operations.
  • Experience with Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is required.
  • Experience in responsible clerical or office work demonstrating satisfactory performance at the grade level.
  • Good communication skills are essential.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must complete a Childcare National Agency Check with Inquiries (CNACI) and state and national criminal background checks.
