About the position

The Operations & Compliance Director at Amentum will oversee a team responsible for providing programmatic support, ensuring operational and contractual compliance throughout the program's lifecycle. This role involves leadership in managing contracts, communications, finance, and HR teams, while also serving as a liaison between project teams and HQ functional support. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, experience in government contracting, and a commitment to achieving programmatic results and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational and contractual compliance leadership throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Develop procedures to enhance performance through quality management processes.
  • Review and develop operational best practices and oversee business operations and contract reporting.
  • Ensure resources meet program requirements and procurements comply with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
  • Monitor program progress against contract and organizational goals.
  • Coach, train, and mentor the contracts, communications, monitoring and evaluation, and finance and HR teams.
  • Resolve staffing and resourcing challenges creatively and cost-effectively.
  • Provide financial, operational, and contractual direction for timely contract delivery.
  • Support the development of program deliverables and perform quality control reviews.
  • Oversee financial management functions, including budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting.
  • Lead contractual compliance assurance efforts and implement risk mitigation best practices.
  • Negotiate contracts in coordination with HQ and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Align project activities with customer and organizational goals.
  • Develop and conduct customer engagement strategies and participate in industry events.
  • Support strategic supplier relationship development and refine statements of work and deliverables.
  • Participate in strategic planning and reporting activities as directed by the Project Director.

Requirements

  • At least thirteen (13) years of professional experience in a management role with similar duties.
  • Experience with programs involving monitoring, evaluation, and quality standards.
  • High level understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and agency supplements.
  • Willingness to travel to austere environments as needed (approximately 10%).
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in relevant fields.
  • Proficiency in written and oral English.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with USAID and/or in the global health arena.
