About the position

The Operations Control Officer (OCO) at Corewell Health is responsible for managing the Security Operations Center, overseeing the security department's activities from routine operations to emergency situations. This role requires extensive knowledge of hospital policies, security equipment, and the ability to coordinate actions among security personnel and external agencies to ensure the safety of patients, visitors, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Security Operations Center and coordinate security activities.
• Direct and coordinate the actions of security officers and support personnel.
• Respond to and manage communications through various channels.
• Assist walk-in traffic with key control and security-related issues.
• Provide updates to supervisors regarding safety concerns.
• Patrol the campus and monitor for suspicious activities.
• Enforce hospital rules and regulations.
• Make arrests for misdemeanors as required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of Operations Control Officer training program.
• 2-3 years of relevant hospital security experience.
• Valid Michigan Driver's License.
• Certification in Automated External Defibrillator (AED) within 90 days.
• First Aid certification from AHA or ARC within 90 days.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days.
• Michigan Concealed Pistol License upon hire.
• PA330 Certification within 90 days.
