About the position

The Operations Coordinator is responsible for the overall management and supervision of community residences, ensuring consumer safety and enhancing the quality of life for individuals served. This role involves oversight of various aspects including residential life, fiscal compliance, incident review, and collaboration with other departments to implement procedures effectively. The position requires a flexible schedule, including late evenings, early mornings, and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Manage program services and improve existing services to meet the needs of individuals served.
  • Provide oversight to ensure consumer safety and 24-hour coverage of the residences.
  • Ensure program billing documentation follows state mandates and agency protocols.
  • Act as an advocate for residents and support self-advocacy.
  • Manage all services in compliance with agency standards.
  • Relay significant information to schools and dayhab regarding medication changes, hospital visits, and family issues.
  • Oversee meetings with parents and advocates to inform them of their family member's condition and progress.
  • Direct the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team (IDT) to ensure service plans address individual needs and desires.
  • Collaborate with clinical/medical teams to ensure follow-through on appointments and referrals.
  • Work with Residence Managers to provide appropriate referrals for services not offered by the clinical team.
  • Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of all consumers in the residence.
  • Develop off-site recreation, socialization, educational, and skill-building activities for community inclusion.
  • Plan and provide complete 24-hour coverage of the residence.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources on recruitment and assist with site visits and interviews.
  • Train, supervise, and evaluate all staff in the residence, including direct support professionals and clinical staff.
  • Mentor and coach employees to ensure job function performance.
  • Ensure the physical plant of the facility is clean and well-maintained.
  • Maintain accounts for each individual's personal allowance and fiscal records.
  • Ensure adequate supplies of food, household items, and medical supplies.

Requirements

  • BSW or related degree with strong experience with similar populations required.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of clinical/managerial experience with emotionally and developmentally disabled populations.
  • Excellent management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated competency in written, verbal, and computational skills.
  • Proficiency with basic computer usage and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid NYS Driver's License required.
  • Ability and willingness to obtain certification in SCIPR Competencies.

Nice-to-haves

  • LMSW or QDIP Certification preferred.
  • Experience working with the CRP population preferred.
