About the position

The Operations Coordinator for Building Maintenance Operations at Village Management Services, Inc. plays a crucial role in coordinating and assisting with the shop and field operations of the Interior Components Services department. This position involves overseeing maintenance projects, ensuring quality control, and managing work orders while collaborating with the Operations Supervisor to enhance departmental efficiency and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide coordination and assistance to the shop and field operations of the Interior Components Services department.
  • Conduct field visits to evaluate, measure, and plan replacement and repair projects.
  • Oversee the scheduling of department work orders and order materials for department work.
  • Conduct quality control over the department's work and ensure proper recording of completed work.
  • Assist the Operations Supervisor in hiring and evaluating department staff.
  • Participate in the development and coordination of safety and compliance programs.
  • Prepare cost estimates, research information, and prepare reports and recommendations for maintenance follow-up actions.
  • Oversee and schedule contracted services related to building maintenance and repairs.
  • Evaluate and prepare contracts and contractors for outside services, verifying completion and quality of contractor work.
  • Confer with the Operations Supervisor regarding objectives, policies, and operational problems.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3 years of experience in maintenance management or related field.
  • Valid California driver's license required.
  • Knowledge of water damage restoration, building construction, and inspection processes.
  • Proficient in computer skills necessary for communication and record keeping.

Nice-to-haves

  • Graduation from High School supplemented by college-level coursework in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
  • Knowledge of mold and mildew remediation processes and abatement procedures for asbestos-containing materials.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain construction records and make concise technical reports.
