About the position

RMA of NY, a leading fertility treatment practice, is seeking a dedicated Operations Coordinator for its Embryology Laboratory. This full-time position is based in our Manhattan laboratory on Madison Avenue, with optional rotations in our Downtown Brooklyn laboratory. The Operations Coordinator will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our busy practice, which performs over 6000 cycles per year and employs nearly 40 embryology staff. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating the scheduling of frozen oocyte and embryo shipments, overseeing cryo storage space logistics, maintaining up-to-date templates for patient charts and laboratory forms, and managing laboratory supplies and inventory. Additionally, the Operations Coordinator will coordinate vendor schedules and maintenance personnel within the laboratory, and will be involved in the movement of cryopreserved specimens between storage and transport tanks. This role requires a proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is open to learning. The Operations Coordinator will have the flexibility to choose between a 4- or 5-day work week, with a set schedule that includes working one weekend day per week or one weekend every other week. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate scheduling of frozen oocyte and embryo shipments with the frozen embryo disposition team
  • Oversee cryo storage space logistics including designation of storage spaces in accordance with FDA screening status
  • Maintain up to date templates for patient charts and laboratory forms
  • Oversee and order laboratory supplies and inventory
  • Coordinate scheduling of vendors and maintenance personnel inside the laboratory
  • Move cryopreserved specimens from a liquid nitrogen storage dewar to a transport tank for shipment or vice versa

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 1 year of experience with Microsoft Excel
  • 1 year of experience with Microsoft Word
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to commute to New York, NY 10022
  • Ability to relocate to New York, NY 10022 before starting work
