About the position

Ergon's Asphalt and Emulsions is seeking an Operations Coordinator to join its Business Development Department in Flowood, MS. The Operations Coordinator will play a crucial role in maintaining communication channels between employees, operations management, and Corporate Services to effectively execute business initiatives. This position supports the management, development, and implementation of operational systems, policies, and procedures, ensuring that the organization runs smoothly and efficiently. The Operations Coordinator will be responsible for various reporting tasks, including safety reporting, where they will work directly with the Health and Safety team to extract data from various systems and provide comprehensive reports to the management team. Additionally, the coordinator will develop and maintain monthly operations reports, collecting and manipulating data to present key performance indicators that inform management decisions. This role requires collaboration with multiple departments, including Engineering, Safety, Finance, HR, and Training, acting as a liaison between these departments and the asphalt Operations group. In addition to reporting and communication responsibilities, the Operations Coordinator will provide generic administrative assistance related to planning and coordinating training seminars for the operations team. They will also support and provide backup to other groups and processes within the Pavement and Coating Resources business unit, which may include financial analysis and reporting, logistics, inventory system support, and systems integrations. The position may require occasional travel related to annual training events, estimated at approximately 10%.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain communication channels between employees, operations management, and Corporate Services to execute business initiatives.
  • Work directly with the Health and Safety team to extract data for safety reporting and provide reports to management.
  • Develop and maintain monthly operations reports, including the collection and manipulation of data to provide key performance indicators.
  • Act as a liaison between various departments (Engineering, Safety, Finance, HR, Training) and the asphalt Operations group.
  • Support the management, development, and implementation of operational systems, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field.
  • 2 years' experience in data management and financial or safety reporting preferred.
  • SQL database or equivalent experience strongly desired.
  • SAP system experience preferred.
  • Extremely proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate and effectively interact with individuals within the organization.
  • Accounting, reconcilement, and finance skills.
