About the position

The Operations Coordinator at Entergy Corporation is responsible for overseeing the scheduling, assignment, management, and monitoring of work performed by contractors in the gas distribution sector. This role ensures compliance with safety guidelines and company standards while coordinating with various departments to maintain and construct facilities according to specifications. The position requires a strong focus on leadership, communication, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to respond to emergencies and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule, assign, manage, and monitor work of contractors, construction, and service work.
  • Ensure all work meets company standards and service dates while complying with safety guidelines.
  • Prepare and carry out valving and purging procedures for the distribution system.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and other departments to ensure facilities are constructed and maintained according to specifications.
  • Assume dispatching duties during emergency and storm situations to restore service to customers.
  • Be available for call-out at all times and work emergency or storm restoration as needed.
  • Read and interpret construction prints and work with external and internal customers.
  • Assume Supervisor's duties temporarily in their absence.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in operations or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of computers and related technology.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to understand directives and complete tasks effectively.
  • Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities under pressure.
  • Self-motivated and dependable team player.
  • Ability to recognize and mitigate workplace hazards.
  • Ability to maintain and care for company equipment and safeguard assets.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to interact with the public in a pleasant manner.
