About the position

The Deloitte Strategic Engineering team is seeking a dedicated Operations Coordinator to lead operations and support programming for Code Next, an after-school and weekend initiative aimed at increasing access to computer science education for underrepresented communities across the United States. As the Operations Coordinator for the Los Angeles/Inglewood area, you will be part of a dynamic national team focused on creating a safe and welcoming environment for students in the lab spaces. This role involves close collaboration with the Community Manager and Instructors to ensure the lab is operationally supported, supplies are ordered, events are coordinated, and data collection is managed effectively. The Operations Coordinator will also be responsible for maintaining the quality of programming and site maintenance, which includes working weekends and evenings to meet the needs of the program. In this position, you will manage lab facilities, ensuring that all equipment is functioning properly and accurately tracked. You will also be involved in event and logistics management, providing support for all systems and processes related to student and participant tracking. Key responsibilities include lab coordination, lab equipment and supply management, event coordination, and student data entry and management. You will play a crucial role in student and volunteer recruitment, ensuring that the program runs smoothly and effectively. Your responsibilities will include maintaining calendars for program and event dates, scheduling site visits and tours, preparing documentation for student attendance and registration, and hosting student advisory sessions. You will also be responsible for food ordering during programs and events, coordinating with various teams for setup and delivery tasks, and ensuring the lab is clean and organized. Additionally, you will assist with all student, parent, and community-focused events, helping to plan and set up events, manage event documentation, and ensure seamless execution on-site. This role requires a passion for event planning, coordination, and operational support, as well as familiarity with technical equipment and setups.

Responsibilities

  • Manage lab facilities and ensure all equipment is functioning and accurately tracked.
  • Provide support on all systems and processes for student and participant tracking.
  • Coordinate lab operations, including equipment and supply management.
  • Assist with event planning and logistics for student and community events.
  • Maintain calendars for program and event dates/times and schedule site visits and tours.
  • Prepare documentation for student attendance, registration, and waivers.
  • Host student advisory sessions and manage food ordering for events.
  • Coordinate with various teams for setup, delivery, and construction tasks.
  • Ensure lab cleanliness and organization, and arrange for facilities as needed.
  • Document all student information into reporting tools and manage inventory.

Requirements

  • Must live in Los Angeles, CA or commutable areas and work in office every day (Tuesday to Saturday, 27 weeks out of the year).
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Passion for event-planning, coordination, and operational support.
  • Familiarity with technical equipment and setup.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% on average based on work and client needs.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.
