About the position

The Operations Coordinator - Move Management (International Alaska) at HomeSafe Alliance is responsible for coordinating household goods moves for military and government personnel relocating to and from Alaska. This role involves managing logistics, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining positive relationships with various partners to deliver an excellent customer experience. The coordinator will oversee pre-move processes, monitor shipments, and ensure timely delivery while fostering a team-oriented work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Foster a team-oriented work environment and maintain positive relationships with suppliers.
  • Review and coordinate daily operations requirements including critical tasks related to household goods moves.
  • Coordinate pre-move processes including analysis of weight/volume estimations and move plans.
  • Monitor and manage all origin service requirements to secure minimum required density for shipments.
  • Review Alaskan shipments for optimization to maximize container volume capacity and minimize transport costs.
  • Arrange inland haulage for loaded lift vans, crates, and/or full containers to/from US partner locations and the port of Tacoma.
  • Update and monitor systems with accurate transit information for all shipments.
  • Ensure all shipments are routed and forwarded according to required standards to meet delivery dates.
  • Maintain contact with on-site supervisors to ensure efficient service experience for clients.
  • Manage the accessorial process and document all requests for accessorial services in the system.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the system for reporting purposes.
  • Ensure all necessary documents are recorded and uploaded for all service component costs.
  • Establish and monitor proposed move plans based on estimated timelines and update the system with accurate data.
  • Work with Alaska managers and legal department to ensure compliance with FMC regulations.
  • Provide service performance or administrative issues to the Alaska Operations Manager.
  • Collaborate with the Alaska Operations Manager to monitor service provider proficiency and recommend improvements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen due to contractual requirements.
  • Undergraduate Degree or equivalent experience in lieu of education.
  • Minimum 2 years directly related experience in General Freight Forwarding, preferred HHG Moving.
  • Ability to read, interpret documents and execute actions for household goods shipments.
  • Ability to communicate with suppliers and provide clear instructions for service performance.
  • Experience in the household goods or similar commodity forwarding industry.
