The Operations Coordinator serves as the primary action officer for installation operational staff actions as directed by the Chief of the Operations and Plans Branch. This role is critical in the development and execution of various operational documents, including Memorandums of Instruction, Operations Orders (OPORDs), and Memorandums of Agreements for the organization. The Operations Coordinator actively participates in the Installation Support and Coordination Meeting, providing essential input regarding USAG Fort Drum's capabilities and limitations in supporting units. This position also involves representing the Operations and Plans Branch at meetings and in the Division and HQs concerning plans or operational issues as directed. In addition to these responsibilities, the Operations Coordinator is tasked with facilitating timely data collection and input to ensure accurate reporting of Installation Readiness. The role also includes assisting in identifying and coordinating training support requirements for installation support of Active Component (AC) US and Canadian units. The incumbent must be prepared to work under various conditions, including emergency situations, and may be required to work 12-hour shifts during deployments, redeployments, or other contingency operations. This position is designated as "Mission Essential," meaning that the incumbent must be available during severe weather conditions or other emergencies. The position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance, and the incumbent will be evaluated based on competencies such as oral communication, planning and evaluating, technical competence, and workforce planning. The role is essential for ensuring that the installation's operational capabilities are effectively managed and communicated, contributing to the overall mission success of the Department of Defense.
