About the position

Oceaneering is a global provider of engineered services and products, primarily to the offshore energy industry. The Operations Coordinator position is designed to support the Service Excellence Operations Manager in delivering the necessary equipment and personnel to facilitate local operations. This role is crucial in ensuring that planning, mobilization, and demobilization activities are conducted efficiently and effectively. Additionally, the position includes responsibilities as a Radiation Safety Officer (RSO), which involves the development, implementation, and management of the radiation safety program, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding the use of radioactive materials and radiation-producing equipment. The RSO will monitor radiation levels, provide training to staff, and maintain comprehensive safety records. The Operations Coordinator will work closely with Global Mobility to understand the overall utilization of field personnel, ensuring that their compliance and competencies align with project requirements. This includes assisting the Operations Manager in evaluating field support staff and coordinating with the Training & Competency department to ensure all offshore personnel receive the necessary training and meet regulatory compliance. The role also involves organizing teams to support operational excellence initiatives, participating in HSE, Quality, and Operational Excellence initiatives, and ensuring that all inspections comply with regulatory requirements and company standards. As the RSO, the individual will develop and implement radiation safety policies and procedures, maintain the Radiation Safety Manual, prepare and submit regulatory reports, and conduct regular audits and inspections of radiation safety practices. The position requires the ability to travel frequently to inspection sites and be on-call for emergency response, making it essential for the candidate to be adaptable and responsive to changing situations.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Service Excellence Operations Manager in delivering equipment and personnel for local operations.
  • Ensure efficient planning, mobilization, and demobilization activities.
  • Monitor radiation levels and ensure compliance with safety regulations as the Radiation Safety Officer.
  • Provide training to staff on radiation safety practices and maintain safety records.
  • Assist Operations Manager in evaluating field support staff and ensuring compliance with project requirements.
  • Coordinate with Training & Competency department for offshore personnel training and regulatory compliance.
  • Organize teams to support operational excellence initiatives as directed by the Operations Manager.
  • Prepare inspection plans, procedures, and schedules in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Oversee inspection, maintenance, and certification of offshore equipment.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for inspection-related queries and issues.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on inspection activities, personnel, and equipment status.
  • Develop and implement radiation safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain the Radiation Safety Manual and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory reports to agencies such as the NRC, EPA, and OSHA.
  • Conduct routine surveys of radiation areas and monitor personnel exposure levels.

Requirements

  • Two (2) or more years of experience in radiation safety with a focus on inspections and compliance.
  • Previous experience with planning, organizing, and administration of activities and personnel.
  • In-depth knowledge of radiation safety regulations and best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in using radiation detection and monitoring equipment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
  • Must be able to obtain a valid Passport and any other regionally mandated offshore work requirement documents as appropriate.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
