About the position

The Operations Coordinator / Sales Counselor position at an Independent Living Retirement Community in Edmond, Oklahoma, is designed for a positive and experienced sales professional with operational experience. This role involves assisting the executive director and working collaboratively with the sales team to drive occupancy through relationship building with prospects, families, and referral sources. The ideal candidate will have experience in senior living sales and will be responsible for various sales and operational tasks to ensure excellent customer service for residents and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with the team to answer telephone inquiries, schedule visits, conduct tours, and close sales according to sales and marketing goals.
  • Plan and coordinate lead-generating events in partnership with the team.
  • Build relationships with prospects and identify ways to generate professional referrals.
  • Manage the sales process, guiding prospects and families through their search process with follow-up after referrals.
  • Use knowledge gained during the discovery process to help prospects appreciate the benefits of independent living.
  • Address objections and barriers presented by prospective residents using independent judgment and creativity.
  • Implement various sales strategies based on relationships with prospective residents and their retirement living goals.
  • Communicate frequently with decision-makers involved in the process, such as adult children and financial advisers.
  • Develop strategies to manage assigned leads and grow prospects to lead to appointments and sales.
  • Utilize marketing database software for all aspects of the sales function from inquiry to sale.
  • Analyze data and manage the lead base effectively using report functions in the database.
  • Identify call strategies based on available data to segment and work active leads.
  • Manage and prioritize own work schedule to meet daily, weekly, and monthly goals.
  • Document and implement process improvements to accomplish objectives and goals.
  • Assist the executive director in coordinating departmental functions and special projects as assigned.
  • Step in to help in various departments as needed, while focusing primarily on sales and meeting sales goals.

Requirements

  • At least two years of senior living sales experience, including Independent Living.
  • Documented sales success with a proven track record in organizational sales skills.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire others.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and provide direction to others.
  • Strong organizational and promotional skills.
  • Strong work ethic and professional demeanor.
  • Knowledge of food preparation, serving, sanitation techniques, and portion control.
  • Ability to treat all information regarding the community, business, or residents as confidential.
  • Strong desire to improve the lives of seniors.
