About the position

The Operations Coordinator at Point Loma Nazarene University provides managerial, administrative, and logistical support to the Associate Deans of the School of Arts and Culture. This role is essential for the daily operations and coordination of various academic programs, requiring strong organizational and communication skills in a collaborative environment. The position involves a variety of tasks including course scheduling, faculty support, event planning, and budget management, all aimed at enhancing the educational experience within the university's vibrant Christian setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support services to the Associate Deans, including course scheduling and faculty support.
  • Support the Assistant Dean and Associate Dean with scheduling and managing undergraduate and graduate courses.
  • Oversee the course wait list, course substitutions, and study abroad course approval processes.
  • Support the hiring and recruiting of full-time and adjunct faculty, including arranging interviews and follow-up correspondence.
  • Plan and organize program events and activities, including student and faculty events.
  • Direct program assessment and assist in accreditation processes for associated programs.
  • Manage and update social media for the associated programs.
  • Assist in maintaining and preparing budgets for the associated programs.

Requirements

  • One or more years of administrative work experience.
  • Proficient in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and Workday.
  • Strong organization skills and ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to relate to diverse groups of people.
  • Ability to compose written materials with correct spelling and grammar.

Nice-to-haves

  • Two or more years of administrative work experience, preferably in higher education.
  • Experience in coordinating groups, tasks, and events.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and Canva.
  • Familiarity with social media trends and AI models.
