About the position

The Operations Coordinator Senior (OCS) at the University of Michigan's Center for Academic Innovation is responsible for overseeing the maintenance of the center's office space and managing daily operations related to facilities and human resources. This role involves coordinating office services, supporting special projects, and ensuring that organizational operational needs are met effectively. The OCS will work closely with the Associate Director of Talent Management and Organizational Development and the CAI Operations Coordinator to facilitate smooth operational activities within the center.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the center's intranet site, ensuring regular updates and communication with staff.
  • Support the rollout and communication of new operational processes within the center.
  • Coordinate the Request for Proposal (RFP) process with the university's Procurement department.
  • Oversee daily operations related to CAI's physical office, including space access and security.
  • Manage the maintenance and functionality of the center's office building, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Maintain relationships with contracted vendor services and oversee purchasing of supplies and services.
  • Support projects related to facility renovations and space optimization.
  • Implement revisions to human resources processes related to hiring and onboarding.
  • Support recruiting tasks such as job board postings and interview scheduling.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree and 3+ years of experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in facilities and daily operations management.
  • Experience developing processes and organizational systems for operations optimization.
  • Ability to balance priorities and deadlines independently.
  • Experience with project management and customer relationship management tools (e.g., GSuite, Asana, Salesforce).
  • Demonstrated initiative and a service-oriented approach.
  • Commitment to teamwork and ability to work well in a multicultural and diverse environment.
