The Operations Coordinator is responsible for the Respiratory care clinical leadership and management of the selected service lines, including program development, performance improvement activities, clinical quality monitoring and ensuring positive physician relationships. This position is responsible for recommending therapeutic and diagnostic procedures for patients with respiratory disorders, including patients in adult and/or pediatric/neonatal critical care units. The Operations Coordinator functions as a resource to staff and is actively involved in department operations. The role requires effective communication skills and the ability to supervise the daily operations and staff of the Respiratory Care department. The Operations Coordinator provides leadership in the absence of the department director or manager, ensuring the flow of communication between staff and department leadership. This position also assists with maintaining department supplies and equipment, preparing the department schedule, and ensuring appropriate staffing. The Operations Coordinator monitors staff performance, assists with re-direction and education, and mentors lesser experienced practitioners. Additionally, the role involves developing, implementing, and managing new programs/policies, refining existing programs/policies to ensure optimal patient outcomes, and providing expert respiratory advice and recommendations to physicians and other staff for populations served.
