About the position

The Operations Coordinator for Underground Construction at Entergy is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the scheduling, assignment, management, and monitoring of construction and service work. This position is crucial in ensuring that all work adheres to company standards and service dates while maintaining compliance with Entergy's safety guidelines and practices. The Operations Coordinator must possess extensive knowledge of the working distribution system, which is essential for effective management of construction projects. In this role, the Operations Coordinator will prepare and execute switching orders for the distribution system, collaborating closely with various departments such as Engineering, Vegetation, and the Distribution Operations Center (DOC). This collaboration ensures that all facilities are constructed and maintained according to Entergy's specifications, standards, and policies. During emergency situations or storms, the Operations Coordinator will assume dispatching responsibilities on a local basis to ensure timely service restoration for all customers. The role may also require working in other areas during emergency or storm restoration efforts, necessitating availability for call-outs at all times. The Operations Coordinator will be responsible for reading and interpreting construction prints, working with both external and internal customers, and temporarily assuming supervisory duties in the absence of the supervisor. Additionally, the coordinator will review daily outages in the Automated Metering/Field Management (AM/FM) system and monitor and complete TACTICS and reliability issues for the network. This position is integral to maintaining high standards of service and operational efficiency within the underground construction team.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule, assign, manage, and monitor construction and service work.
  • Ensure all work meets company standards and service dates while complying with safety guidelines.
  • Prepare and carry out switching orders for the distribution system.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Vegetation, DOC, and other departments to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Assume dispatching duties during emergency and storm situations to restore service promptly.
  • Work emergency or storm restoration in other areas as needed and be available for call-out at all times.
  • Read and interpret construction prints effectively.
  • Engage with external and internal customers to ensure service quality.
  • Temporarily assume Supervisor's duties in their absence.
  • Review daily outages in AM/FM and monitor/complete TACTICS and reliability issues.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of computers and related technology.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
