About the position

The Operations Coordinator for the Gresham Foam Insulation production facility plays a pivotal role in supporting the daily operations of the production line. This position is accountable for the development of Operations Shift Resources and ensuring that production metrics are accurately tracked each shift. The Operations Coordinator is responsible for following development plans for operations employees and allocating resources effectively to support the production line. This role is critical in driving cultural change within the plant by collaborating closely with peers and the plant's leadership team. The Operations Coordinator is tasked with ensuring safety, quality, and production standards are met by the operations team. As a subject matter expert in operations equipment and processes, the Coordinator will work closely with the Operations Leader to implement Autonomous Maintenance (AM) practices across the production area. In addition to operational responsibilities, the Operations Coordinator is expected to model a strong safety culture by adhering to safety policies and procedures, promoting a safe work environment, and engaging in regular safety interactions with employees. The role involves monitoring safety practices, implementing improvements, and ensuring compliance with environmental standards. The Coordinator will also participate in Process Safety Management (PSM) activities and work with the Operations Leader to set clear performance expectations aligned with plant goals. This includes tracking critical plant metrics, developing standard expectations for Operations Shift Resource positions, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The Operations Coordinator will enable Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) deployment by collaborating with operational leadership and the division TPM steering team to develop a master plan for implementation. This includes creating a robust Operator Basic Care system and utilizing key AM tools to drive improvements. The Coordinator will also lead and develop talent by conducting regular check-ins with team members, advocating for training and development needs, and participating in hiring activities to select the best talent for the Gresham team.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily operation of the production line and develop Operations Shift Resources.
  • Ensure production metrics are accurately tracked each shift.
  • Follow development plans for operations employees and allocate resources effectively.
  • Model a strong safety culture and adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Monitor standard safety and housekeeping practices and implement improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with work instructions and procedures related to plant production equipment.
  • Participate in Process Safety Management (PSM) activities.
  • Work with the Operations Leader to set clear performance expectations aligned with plant goals.
  • Track critical plant metrics and measure against plant goals daily.
  • Develop standard expectations for Operations Shift Resource positions.
  • Build and adapt Operations Career Pathway growth model.
  • Partner with the Quality department to develop and track key quality metrics.
  • Drive alignment between Operations and Maintenance departments.
  • Work with operational leadership to develop the master plan for TPM implementation.
  • Foster the use of key AM tools to drive improvement in AM activities.
  • Conduct regular check-ins with operations team members to drive progress on Career Pathways.
  • Advocate for training and development needs of plant production employees.
  • Lead operations onboarding activities and participate in plant hiring activities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Past manufacturing line leadership responsibility.
  • Experience in developing and training others within the organization.
  • Understanding of both Extrusion and Downline Equipment.
  • TPM or lean manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
