About the position

The Branch Financial Manager is responsible for leading the administrative processes of the branch to enhance operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and profitability. This role involves coaching and developing a team of administrative professionals while supporting the district financial manager with insights that contribute to overall district performance. The position requires oversight of maintenance and operations coordinators to ensure alignment with business objectives and customer demands, providing an opportunity for growth and learning in operational dynamics and business fundamentals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the team through hiring, training, performance reviews, and check-ins.
  • Develop and sustain consistent processes via cross-training that drive process effectiveness and profitability.
  • Reward and recognize team members, creating an atmosphere of teamwork and camaraderie.
  • Periodically assess branch staffing requirements with the District Financial Manager (DFM).
  • Perform branch-level analyses and reviews in areas such as P&L, contribution reports, and aged trial balances.
  • Investigate and recommend solutions to issues posing a risk to profitability drivers.
  • Collaborate with BSM/BRM and district leadership to improve branch operations.
  • Improve and sustain customer-facing and internal operational, financial, and administrative processes.
  • Lead customer-facing processes such as billing and receivables management.
  • Ensure tax and legal compliance for branch operations.
  • Utilize additional reports to supplement findings identified through P&L review.
  • Lead initiative implementation at the branch level and ensure adherence to process guidelines.
  • Supervise the effectiveness of branch maintenance processes including parts, tires, and fuel inventories.
  • Perform Location Operations Reviews to improve and sustain branch performance.
  • Grow organizational capability and shared responsibility for leadership and customer-centered performance.
  • Oversee branch-level business planning processes and support district business planning completion.
  • Continuously review plan vs. actual at the branch level throughout the year.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Finance or Business preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in customer service and operations.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills to lead and develop branch teams.
  • Competent written and verbal communication skills for presenting problems and corrective action plans.
  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint required.
  • Profit and Loss (P&L) reporting experience highly preferred.
  • Agile and quick learner who enjoys collaborative projects and continuous education.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a leadership role within a financial or operational context.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNet or AS400 systems for operational dynamics.
