About the position

The Operations Coordinator at Veritiv plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the warehouse by verifying and maintaining records for incoming and outgoing shipments. This position is responsible for preparing items for shipment and providing support in the administration, tracking, monitoring, and payment of inventory of products. The Operations Coordinator will maintain accurate day-to-day inventory levels, ensuring that all processes adhere to quality standards and regulatory codes. In this role, the Operations Coordinator will be tasked with assembling, addressing, stamping, and shipping merchandise or materials, as well as receiving, unpacking, verifying, and recording incoming shipments. The position requires following mandatory procedures to ensure compliance with quality standards and safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment. The Operations Coordinator will also participate in training and development activities to enhance their skills and contribute to the overall efficiency of the operations team. Additionally, the Operations Coordinator will carry out procedural tasks that support the audit process, such as cycle counts and bin verifications, and will resolve complex inquiries from customers or suppliers regarding policies, delivery dates, costs, and quantities. The role involves gathering data and preparing documents using various computer applications, maintaining accurate inventory balances within the Warehouse Management System, and achieving specific procurement goals. The Operations Coordinator will also perform other duties as assigned by the manager, contributing to the overall success of the operations team.

Responsibilities

  • Verify and maintain records for incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Prepare items for shipment and provide support in inventory administration.
  • Assemble, address, stamp, and ship merchandise or materials.
  • Receive, unpack, verify, and record incoming merchandise or materials.
  • Arrange for the transportation of products as needed.
  • Follow mandatory procedures to ensure quality standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in training and development activities to enhance skills.
  • Carry out procedural tasks supporting the audit process on MS documents and databases.
  • Resolve complex inquiries from internal or external customers or suppliers.
  • Gather data and prepare moderately complex documents using computer applications.
  • Maintain accurate system and physical inventory balances within the Warehouse Management System.
  • Achieve specific procurement goals and provide support to others.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.

Requirements

  • 2+ years working in a warehouse environment.
  • Distribution warehousing experience preferred.
  • Ability to develop proficiency with company computer system.
  • Familiarity with computerized warehouse systems preferred.
  • PC proficient in Windows-based software programs.
  • Familiarity with MS Office Software and good basic keyboarding skills.
  • Strong math skills required.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and customer relations skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail required.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • 1-3 years of related job experience.
  • Excellent verbal, written, people, and diplomacy skills required.
