About the position

The position is responsible for overseeing the scheduling, assignment, management, and monitoring of construction and service work within Entergy Texas, Inc. The individual in this role will ensure that all work adheres to company standards and service dates, while also complying with Entergy's safety guidelines and practices. This includes preparing and executing switching orders for the distribution system and collaborating with various departments such as Engineering, Vegetation, and the Distribution Operations Center (DOC) to ensure that all facilities are constructed and maintained according to company specifications, standards, and policies. In addition to these responsibilities, the position requires the individual to assume dispatching duties during emergency and storm situations, ensuring that service is restored to all customers in a timely manner. The role also involves reading and interpreting construction prints, working with both external and internal customers, and temporarily assuming supervisory duties in the absence of the supervisor. Daily monitoring of outages and reliability issues for the network is also a key responsibility, along with being available for call-out at all times. The position demands a proactive approach to managing multiple activities and changing priorities, as well as the ability to work well under pressure. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate strong leadership skills, effective communication, and organizational abilities, while also being self-motivated and dependable. Responsibilities

  • Schedule, assign, manage, and monitor construction and service work.
  • Ensure all work meets company standards and service dates while complying with safety guidelines.
  • Prepare and carry out switching orders for the distribution system.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Vegetation, DOC, and other departments to maintain facilities according to specifications.
  • Assume dispatching duties during emergency and storm situations to restore service promptly.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate Degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in transmission/distribution line, substation, or project work.
  • Strong knowledge of computers and related technology.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to understand directives and complete tasks effectively.
  • Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities under pressure.
  • Self-motivated and dependable team player.
