About the position

The Operations Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of a branch office, acting as a vital link between the branch and the home office. Under general supervision, this position involves performing various support staff duties essential for the smooth functioning of the branch. The Operations Coordinator is responsible for ensuring effective communication and coordination between branch personnel and home office staff, addressing inquiries, and managing paperwork efficiently. This role requires a strong focus on client service, as the coordinator will handle client-related requests and operational functions that are critical to maintaining high standards of service. In addition to acting as a liaison, the Operations Coordinator will also be responsible for training additional support staff on their daily work assignments, ensuring that all team members are equipped to perform their roles effectively. The coordinator will accurately process order tickets, manage cash and check transactions, and ensure that daily balances are maintained. This includes booking securities and issuing receipts, as well as assisting in the opening of customer accounts and processing any necessary changes. The position demands a keen attention to detail and a thorough understanding of financial operations to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards. The ideal candidate will possess a solid knowledge of the financial markets and the securities industry, along with the ability to analyze and report financial data accurately. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential, as is a professional demeanor when interacting with clients and colleagues. The Operations Coordinator will contribute to the overall success of the branch by providing exemplary client service and supporting the operational needs of the team.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as liaison between branch/satellite and home office personnel (i.e. questions, paperwork, etc.).
  • Trains additional support staff on daily work assignments.
  • Performs operational or administrative functions for client related requests.
  • Accurately processes order tickets (or calls in/faxes orders to main branch) and follows up where necessary.
  • Books in cash/checks, issues receipts and accurately balances daily.
  • Books in securities, issues receipts and accurately balances daily.
  • Assists in the opening of customer accounts and processes changes.

Requirements

  • Minimum Required: High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum Required: 2+ years of Financial/Securities industry experience
  • Knowledge of the financial markets, the industry, the analysis and reporting of financial data, and associated terminology.
  • General understanding of the securities regulations.
  • Strong focus on providing exemplary client service.
  • Excellent grammar and possess phone/office etiquette.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
