About the position

The Operations Coordinator at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation plays a crucial role in supporting the operations team by providing technical leadership and ensuring the smooth execution of daily activities. This position is designed for individuals who can work under the direction of the Operations Manager, Department Coordinator, or Aircraft Coordinator, depending on the situation. The Operations Coordinator is not just a managerial role but also a hands-on position that requires active participation in various operational tasks. The individual will be responsible for training team members, developing daily work plans, and leading the team in completing assigned operations efficiently and effectively. In this role, the Operations Coordinator will be tasked with creating and updating job instruction breakdown (JIB) sheets to support training initiatives. They will coordinate the development and updates to the Daily Work Plan (DWP) and ensure that all operations are completed as per the DWP. The coordinator will also take on the responsibility of being the FOD (Foreign Object Damage) and 6S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) team leader for their assigned area. This includes assisting the manager in developing workarounds when issues arise, such as delays in parts or other operational challenges. Additionally, the Operations Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that all paperwork associated with daily work is completed and signed off on the same day. They will maintain accurate metrics for the DWP and ensure that the skills matrix reflects the team's proficiency levels. The coordinator must demonstrate discipline and integrity in following engineering and manufacturing documents, and they will perform other duties as assigned to support the overall operations of the team.

Responsibilities

  • Train team members on specific installs to ensure quality and proficiency is maintained at the highest level.
  • Coordinate the development and updates to the Daily Work Plan (DWP).
  • Lead team members in the assignment and completion of required operations on a daily basis per the DWP.
  • Act as the FOD and 6S team leader for the assigned area/work scope.
  • Assist the manager in developing workarounds when necessary as issues arise (e.g., DR/DI, late part(s), etc.).
  • Provide assistance to the manager for team EPR evaluations.
  • Ensure the team follows same day completion of all paperwork associated with work completed daily.
  • Ensure all metrics for DWP are posted and accurate on a daily basis.
  • Maintain the skills matrix to accurately reflect the team's level of proficiency.
  • Demonstrate discipline and integrity in following respective engineering and manufacturing documents.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 4 years of related manufacturing assembly or aircraft maintenance experience required.
  • Q-stamp preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and good communication skills.
  • Proficient in the interpretation of Gulfstream Standards used in Manufacturing: GAMPs, GERs, MEPs, etc.
  • Exceptional problem identification/solving skills with the ability to function equally well as a team leader or team member.
  • Ability to work any shift.
  • Ability to lift and transport objects up to 40 lbs.
