About the position

Approved Freight Forwarders is seeking a qualified Operations Coordinator with 2 to 3 years of experience in warehouse administrative processes. This full-time position offers a starting pay of $19.50 per hour and requires the candidate to work Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, with the possibility of overtime. The Operations Coordinator will be responsible for performing various administrative tasks, including data entry, scheduling appointments, and coordinating pickups. The role is crucial in ensuring that the organization runs smoothly and that all deadlines and plans for events are accomplished on time without issues. The Operations Coordinator will also ensure that all activities conform to local, federal, industry, and company standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in warehouse, 3PL, distribution, and logistics. They will be responsible for processing hazardous freight declarations and documentation, as well as shipping and receiving hazardous materials. The role requires proficiency in billing and accruing, as well as import and export container processing. Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is essential, along with heavy email communication via Microsoft Outlook and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Excellent strategic planning and problem-solving skills are necessary, as well as effective communication skills, including speaking, writing, and active listening. Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have a minimum of 2 years of warehouse administrative experience in a 3PL distribution or logistics environment. The physical requirements of the job include the ability to lift up to 40 pounds and the capacity to sit or stand for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

  • Perform administrative tasks including data entry and scheduling appointments.
  • Coordinate pickups and ensure smooth operations within the organization.
  • Ensure all activities conform to local, federal, industry, and company standards.
  • Process hazardous freight declarations and documentation.
  • Handle shipping and receiving of hazardous materials.
  • Manage billing and accruing processes.
  • Oversee import and export container processing.
  • Utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) effectively.
  • Communicate extensively via email using Microsoft Outlook.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of warehouse administrative experience in a 3PL distribution or logistics environment.
  • Experience in warehouse, 3PL, distribution, and logistics is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlook is necessary.
  • Excellent strategic planning and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Effective communication skills, including speaking, writing, and active listening.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with shipping and receiving hazardous materials preferred.
  • Experience in processing hazardous freight declarations/documentation is a plus.
