About the position

The Operations Coordinator at Radiology Partners plays a crucial role in supporting clinical and administrative functions within the radiology practice. This position involves a variety of tasks aimed at ensuring efficient operations, including patient preparation, handling inquiries, and coordinating with medical staff. The Operations Coordinator is essential in maintaining high-quality patient care and operational excellence in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for their practitioner visit or procedure by reviewing medical, surgical, and social history, reviewing medications, and taking vital signs.
  • Answer questions patients may have about the procedure, pre-operatively or post-operatively when appropriate.
  • Answer clinical calls from patients and referrers regarding procedures and follow-up care, and triage to PA as needed.
  • Keep IR clinic rooms stocked with all necessary supplies.
  • Handle all incoming phone calls from Hospital support staff wanting to speak to a radiologist regarding procedures/reports.
  • Obtain pre-authorizations and scheduling of surgical procedures as needed.
  • Respond to insurance and other third-party inquiries.
  • Assist Medical Records in the completion of studies.
  • Coordinate with Interventional Radiology on scheduled procedures for radiologists.
  • Schedule and organize on-boarding of new physicians with IT dept. for PACS training, identification process, badge access, and parking passes.
  • Monitor exceptions for missing studies through hospital EMR. Contact IT support to correct issues with studies that are locked or missing.
  • Communicate to radiologist of any missing reports and/or any outstanding studies that need dictation or addendums.
  • Greet/check-in IR patients, schedule outpatient studies, follow-up calls and appointments at both IR clinic locations.
  • Assist in obtaining CPT and ICD 10 codes for business office and referring physicians.
  • Assist with any items that billing dept. may need for billing purposes.
  • Help support physicians, patients and referrers with administrative duties which may arise.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree highly preferred.
  • 1-2 years of Medical Assisting and Clerical experience.
  • Experience in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Ability to learn and retain information regarding medical care and procedures.
