About the position

Randstad is the #1 HR Solutions Company in the world and we are sourcing for an Operations Coordinator position in the Western Suburbs of Chicago, IL. The Operations Coordinator must have 1+ years of inventory experience including inventory processing, inventory control, monthly forecasts, etc. They must be a strong communicator as they will be working with other departments to ensure shipping priorities, schedules, etc. This is a contract to hire position and can start immediately. The Operations Coordinator will be responsible for supporting Operations by promoting an atmosphere of teamwork and contributing to the ultimate company goal of exceeding sales, profit, and customer satisfaction benchmarks. This role requires a proactive approach to assist the Operations Manager in day-to-day coordination and management of business operational activities. The Operations Coordinator will review sales order entries for accuracy, coordinate shipping schedules with Logistics to ensure on-time delivery of products to customers, and communicate priorities with Quality Control for material release according to customer needs. Additionally, the coordinator will monitor inventory levels and assist in creating a monthly manufacturing schedule to ensure sufficient inventory levels for customers. They will generate monthly expiring inventory reports, review monthly forecasts for finished products and raw materials, and evaluate current operational performance and procedures to provide a strategic plan for improvements. The role also involves assisting in the creation, organization, and maintenance of Operations Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), supporting IT functions, and promoting a cooperative and constructive atmosphere within the workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews sales order entry for accuracy
  • Coordinates shipping schedules with Logistics to ensure on-time delivery of product to customers
  • Communicates priorities with QC for material release according to customer's needs
  • Monitors inventory levels and assists in creating monthly manufacturing schedule to ensure sufficient inventory levels for customers
  • Generates monthly expiring inventory reports
  • Reviews monthly forecasts for finished products and raw materials
  • Evaluates current operational performance and procedures and provides strategic plan for improvements
  • Assists in the creation, organization, and maintenance of Operations SOP's
  • Assists with IT functions and supports NAV integration interdepartmentally
  • Promotes a cooperative and constructive atmosphere
  • Supports other departments as time permits
  • Provides support to Logistics, QA and QC departments as needed
  • Implements 5S Pillars within workplace
  • Performs additional duties as assigned
  • Reports any and all food safety problems or concerns to the proper personnel authorized to initiate action

Requirements

  • Minimum of a HS Diploma and or Associates Degree. A Bachelors Degree would be a plus.
  • Minimum of 1 to 2 years experience in a similar role/environment.
  • Strong Oral / Written Communication Skills.
  • Excellent Customer Service.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration is a must.
  • MS Office / Outlook / Excel proficiency is required.
  • Time Management is key in this role.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Data Warehousing
  • Knowledge of Quality Control and Quality Assurance processes
  • Familiarity with CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action)
  • Understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice)
