In this role, you will be tasked with scheduling drivers to ensure timely freight delivery and collection of shipments. You will communicate with customers and vendors regarding freight details, including pickup and drop-off times, and any special requests they may have. Planning predetermined routes for drivers is essential, as is identifying potential traffic issues and developing corrective action plans to maintain efficiency. You will also prepare dispatch documents for management and maintain records of all dispatch calls, driver routes, and delivery times. Additionally, you will monitor truck repairs and maintenance schedules, log vendor complaints, and assist with inquiries from vendors, customers, and management. This clerical administrative position is set in a professional office environment, where you will frequently use a phone and computer. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of local and state traffic laws, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. A GED or higher education level is required, along with 2-3 years of freight dispatching experience, which is highly valued in this role.

Responsibilities

Requirements
