About the position

The Operations Coordinator is an entry-level position responsible for managing the use of airport facilities under the direction of Operations Supervisors. This role ensures compliance with safety and security regulations while assisting in various operational tasks at the airport. The position requires flexibility in scheduling, including working holidays and extended hours during emergencies.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with periodic, daily, and continuous airfield/facilities inspections for unsafe or non-compliant conditions.
  • Issue facility work orders for non-compliant, unsafe, damaged, missing, incorrect, or dirty conditions found.
  • Perform regular inspections of terminal facilities, ensuring cleanliness and proper servicing by contracted janitorial staff.
  • Assist with the issuance of Airport ID Media and keys to personnel in compliance with regulations.
  • Support the training, testing, and oversight of airport employees operating on movement and non-movement areas of the Airfield.
  • Assist the Airport Public Safety Department during emergencies and security-related incidents.
  • Coordinate two-way radio communications between Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Public Safety departments.
  • Assist in coordination of airport facilities by air carrier, air cargo, military, and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor all airport construction activities to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Assist in implementing airport programs such as the Wildlife Hazard Management Plan and Snow and Ice Control Plan.
  • Perform ground handling tasks such as passenger check-in, bag room, marshalling, and aircraft push-back.
  • Manage terminal lines and crowded areas, providing support and direction as needed.
  • Perform and document tenant audits and inspections for compliance with Authority expectations.
  • Assist with security-related responsibilities such as random employee screening and vehicle inspections.
  • Provide special event support and assist with customer relations events.

Requirements

  • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain appropriate Authority driving privileges.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 2 years of customer service experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound independent judgement.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
