About the position

The Operations Coordinator at Sun & Ski Sports is responsible for overseeing all non-sales functions of the store, ensuring a consistent and quality experience for customers. This role requires a highly organized professional with retail cashier experience, capable of multitasking and maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. The Operations Coordinator will lead store operations in the absence of store managers and manage various operational processes including cash handling, eCommerce fulfillment, inventory management, and staff training.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ALL non-sales functions; including front-end and back-end operations of the store.
  • Ensure a consistent, quality store experience for customers by processing transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Lead store operations in the absence of store managers.
  • Manage bank deposit activities and ensure accurate cash counting, reconciling cash with receipts at the end of each shift.
  • Identify and correct cash register errors and implement measures to prevent further errors.
  • Manage the eCommerce fulfillment process.
  • Oversee the receiving and distribution process of inventory in and out of the store, maintaining reporting.
  • Manage the markdowns process and freight receiving process, including operational paperwork and sensor tag placement.
  • Handle mark-out-of-stock, warranty claims, and return-to-vendor processing.
  • Maintain general in-store facilities housekeeping and maintenance to visual standards.
  • Organize stock room and back areas.
  • Maintain the in-store training process and CRM data collection.
  • Monitor the Weekly Compliance Report and manage the tech shop areas of the store.
  • Complete store supply orders and train associates on operational functions, evaluating and developing them.
  • Aid with year-end inventory preparation.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of management experience.
  • Ability to manage, motivate, and develop staff.
  • 2+ years of retail experience; knowledge of business operations and shrink reduction.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with vendors, buyers, store team, and upper management.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task.
  • Outdoor enthusiast with a passion for activities such as skiing, snowboarding, cycling, water sports, and more.
