About the position

Klein Reinforcing Services is seeking an Operations Coordinator to join our team in Spencerport, NY. As one of the largest suppliers and fabricators of reinforcing bars in Rochester and the surrounding areas, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality bar products and specialized services across Western New York. The Operations Coordinator will play a crucial role in providing strategic direction and leadership for the overall operations of the business. This position is designed for an individual who can effectively manage the development and direction of the operational team, driving revenue growth, enhancing technical productivity, and promoting high levels of customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will be responsible for building strong relationships and ensuring that strategic plans are integrated with company operations. In this role, the Operations Coordinator will oversee all operational aspects of the division, implementing production initiatives aimed at improving safety, accuracy, and cost efficiency. The position involves meticulous production planning and scheduling, ensuring that operations are organized and efficient. The Operations Coordinator will also be responsible for overseeing health and safety protocols within the operations, setting up processes and systems for both short-term and long-term production planning. Additionally, the role includes managing outside detailing resources, reviewing the aSa system for production purposes, and utilizing ASA for inputting bar lists, scheduling, inventory management, and production optimization. The Operations Coordinator will manage the preventative maintenance program for all plant equipment and ensure that facility maintenance and housekeeping standards are upheld both internally and externally. The Operations Coordinator will also be expected to maintain adequate security systems for the facility, attend customer meetings as required, and handle customer inquiries to meet their business requirements. Assisting in the development of an annual operations budget and plan for the division is also a key responsibility. The successful candidate will inspire and manage team performance and satisfaction through effective performance management and progressive discipline systems, while also implementing training initiatives to promote continuous skill improvement. Coaching and mentoring of Supervisors and Lead Hands will be an essential part of this role, ensuring that the team is well-equipped to meet operational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all operational aspects of the division

  • Conduct production planning & scheduling in an organized fashion
  • Oversee the health & safety of the operations

Requirements

  • 3+ years in a leadership role in a manufacturing environment
  • Degree in Business (preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal skills to inspire commitment and accountability
  • Comfortable leading production teams through problem solving
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
  • High energy and strong sense of urgency
  • Track record of initiating and implementing continuous improvement initiatives
  • Skilled in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Microstation, and ASA
  • Detailing experience is an asset
  • Experience leading a team of +/- 10-15 employees
