About the position

The Operations Coordinator at the Lawrence Hopewell Trail Corporation (LHTC) is a part-time role focused on supporting the organization's mission to maintain and promote the Lawrence Hopewell Trail. This position involves project management of events, administrative tasks, and overseeing trail maintenance activities, ensuring effective community engagement and outreach.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute LHT events, including the Full Moon Ride, Trail and Treat, and Saturday Morning Walking Club.
  • Organize and oversee trail maintenance activities, working with volunteers and property owners to ensure the safety and upkeep of the trail.
  • Maintain event and volunteer databases, ensuring accurate records of participants and activities.
  • Manage logistics for LHTC Board of Trustees meetings, including scheduling, preparing meeting materials, and taking minutes.
  • Assist with fundraising and sponsorship efforts, supporting event promotion and partner engagement.
  • Liaise with community members, municipalities, and partners to strengthen LHT's visibility and outreach.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Event management experience.
  • Passion for outdoor activities and community engagement.
  • Experience working with volunteer-driven 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit organizations.
  • Knowledge of and ability to frequently work in person in Mercer County, New Jersey, including weekends.
