About the position

Randstad is seeking a talented Operations Assistant to support the needs of site production operations in Kihei, Hawaii. This position requires a skilled individual who can build and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. The Operations Assistant will be responsible for partnering at various levels of the organization to drive strategic and operational effectiveness. This is an onsite position, and local candidates are preferred as relocation cost reimbursement is not available for this role. The salary for this position ranges from $22.50 to $23.50 per hour, and the work hours are from 7 AM to 5 PM on the first shift. The Operations Assistant will engage in a variety of responsibilities, including procurement activities, clerical tasks for daily operations, organizing site meetings, managing inventory, and assisting with the onboarding and offboarding of employees. The role also involves owning and supporting operations related to specific areas of expertise, which may include health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices, grower accounting, field operations, plant operations, human resources, accounts payable, and procurement. The Operations Assistant will partner with key business stakeholders to identify business issues and opportunities, focusing on significant areas of spending and continuous improvement initiatives. Additionally, the Operations Assistant will be tasked with identifying cost savings programs by capturing and reporting data across the production network to drive savings. The role requires a proactive approach to lead and identify opportunities for improving efficiency and enhancing customer satisfaction. The essential functions of this role will be performed in a smoke-free environment, ensuring a healthy workplace for all employees.

Responsibilities

  • Procurement (completes payments to vendors and supports site expense management programs)
  • Clerical activities for site daily operation
  • Organize site meetings and site communications
  • Inventory management, assists with onboarding/offboarding employees
  • Own and support operations pertaining to delegated area of expertise, including but not limited to HSE, grower accounting, field operations, plant operations, human resources, accounts payable, procurement and/or other areas defined by leadership
  • Partner with key business stakeholders to define business issues and opportunities, highlighting significant areas of spend and continuous improvement
  • Identify cost savings programs through capturing, reporting and expanding across the production network to drive savings
  • Lead and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction

Requirements

  • Associates degree with 3+ years of administrative experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Software
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Organization and prioritization skills and attention to detail
  • Understanding of manufacturing and/or desire to learn agriculture operations
  • Customer focus
  • Ability to rapidly connect and analyze data
  • Ability to communicate complex analytical insights in a precise and actionable manner
