About the position

The Operations Coordinator at Ryder System is responsible for supervising and coordinating logistics operations while providing coaching and development to staff members. This role involves ensuring that logistics processes meet company standards and customer service specifications, as well as monitoring team performance to achieve business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coordinate and oversee day to day logistics operations
  • Plan and review logistics processes in collaboration with the Logistics Manager
  • Establish work schedules and procedures for optimal shift/team logistics
  • Accountable for site Key Performance Indication (KPI)
  • Collaborate with customers on all aspects of operations
  • Meet regularly with team members to monitor progress and track performance
  • Cultivate team spirit with a Diversity and Inclusion initiative
  • Carry out performance evaluations and recommend performance awards
  • Address performance problems through corrective action
  • Maintain positive labor relations with all employees
  • Implement health & safety and security initiatives
  • Provide orientation for employees and Lead Hands

Requirements

  • H.S. diploma/GED required
  • One (1) year or more experience in transportation, warehouse or distribution environment preferred
  • 0 to One (1) year direct supervisory/leadership experience required
