About the position

The Operations Coordinator position at The Entwistle Company is a dynamic role that involves receiving direction from both the Production Control Manager and the Materials Manager. The ideal candidate will possess above-average critical thinking skills, be self-motivated, highly organized, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. This role requires spending up to 50% of the time on the plant floor, engaging with fellow employees, as well as customer and government representatives. The Operations Coordinator is responsible for managing the life cycle of work orders within the Global Shop Solutions ERP System and on the plant floor. Additionally, the role includes assisting in the creation of production schedules, conducting inventory cycle counts, and participating in year-end physical inventories. The coordinator will also generate KPI reports utilizing data captured from various sources and manage aspects of the purchase order generation and monitoring process. Essential duties and responsibilities include utilizing the ERP System and MS Office tools to assist the Production Control Manager with production scheduling, generating, monitoring, and closing work orders using the ERP System, and generating and monitoring purchase requisitions/orders. The Operations Coordinator will track received materials from initial receipt through the QC Department sign-off, communicate with vendors to expedite material and resolve delivery issues, assist with cycle counts and year-end inventory activities, and maintain training matrices and operator training documentation. Furthermore, the coordinator will generate KPI reports from data collected manually and/or through the ERP System, evaluate work orders and work instructions to ensure process and procedure goals are being met, maintain a neat and orderly work area, and always adhere to safety policies and procedures while promoting a safety culture throughout the plant. Other duties may be assigned as required.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize ERP System and MS Office tools to assist Production Control Manager with production scheduling.
  • Generate, monitor, and close work orders using ERP System.
  • Generate and monitor purchase requisitions/orders.
  • Track received material from initial receipt through QC Department sign-off.
  • Communicate with vendors to expedite material and resolve delivery issues.
  • Assist with cycle counts and year-end inventory activities.
  • Maintain training matrix and operator training documentation.
  • Generate KPI reports from data collected manually and/or through the ERP System.
  • Evaluate work orders and work instructions to ensure process and procedure goals are being met.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
  • Always adhere to Safety policies and procedures and promote safety culture throughout the Plant.

Requirements

  • A problem-solving mindset with the willingness to show initiative.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to competently use MS Office programs including Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.
  • Able to work in a team-based, dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
  • Excellent organization and analytical skills with a solid attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Be able to climb, squat and stand on your feet for long periods of time.
  • Able to lift 40 lbs.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a scheduling, inventory control, or production control role.
