About the position

TRX is hiring an Operations Coordinator experienced in supply chain and manufacturing to augment the production, engineering, and program teams in purchasing, documentation, inventory, audits, and general administrative functions. In support of a major U.S. Army program, reporting to the Director of Programs and working closely with the Operations Manager, the Operations Coordinator will execute supply chain, operations, and administrative tasks as assigned in direct support of on-time product delivery and to maximize efficiency and product margin. This new Operations Coordinator position is a full-time role in Greenbelt, MD.

Responsibilities

  • Daily procurement activities
  • Processing requisitions and performing material planning analysis to meet desired cost and schedule requirements while maintaining proper inventory levels in support of manufacturing and production.
  • Ordering, quoting, rescheduling parts and materials from MRP and data entry
  • Working closely with TRX's contract manufacturer to coordinate electronic and mechanical component purchases from manufacturers and distributors
  • Working with TRX engineers to support identification and development of new supplier capabilities and 2nd sources
  • Inventory Management
  • Maintaining accurate procurement records
  • Planning, scheduling, monitoring and reporting on movement of materials through the production cycle using company spreadsheets
  • Auditing and reporting on inventory at TRX and contract manufacturing site as required for ISO 9001:2015 and Government contract reporting
  • Meeting with vendors and sales representatives to obtain product or service information such as price, availability and delivery schedule
  • Maintaining TRX on-site inventory for components, partial assemblies and finished products during development and for finished products when required
  • Coordinating and supporting shipping and receiving activities in coordination with TRX Office Manager

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Recent college graduate or 2-5 years experience as a buyer or in applicable areas of operations, supply chain, or manufacturing
  • Familiarity with manufacturing technologies including PCB and CCA production (SMT), mechanical/box builds
  • Effective oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Microsoft suite expertise (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for scheduling and reporting
  • Ability to work on-site at the TRX office in Greenbelt, MD 3 days/week or more and occasionally at contract manufacturing site (presently in Frederick, MD) as needs of the business dictate
