About the position

The Operations Coordinator at Entergy is a pivotal role responsible for the scheduling, assignment, management, and monitoring of construction and service work. This position ensures that all work adheres to company standards and service dates while maintaining compliance with Entergy's safety guidelines and practices. The Operations Coordinator will prepare and execute switching orders for the distribution system and collaborate with various departments, including Engineering, Vegetation, and the Distribution Operations Center (DOC), to ensure that all facilities are constructed and maintained according to company specifications, standards, and policies. In addition to these responsibilities, the Operations Coordinator will assume dispatching duties during emergency and storm situations, ensuring that service is restored to all customers promptly. This role requires availability for call-outs at all times, including working emergency or storm restoration in other areas as needed. The Operations Coordinator will also read and interpret construction prints, work with both external and internal customers, and temporarily assume supervisory duties in the absence of the supervisor. Daily monitoring of outages and reliability issues for the network is also a critical part of this role, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. The position demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities while working well under pressure. The Operations Coordinator is expected to be a self-motivated and dependable team player, capable of recognizing hazards in the workplace and mitigating them appropriately. A strong emphasis is placed on delivering high levels of customer service and fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule, assign, manage, and monitor construction and service work.
  • Ensure all work meets company standards and service dates while complying with safety guidelines.
  • Prepare and carry out switching orders for the distribution system.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Vegetation, DOC, and other departments to maintain facilities according to specifications.
  • Assume dispatching duties during emergency and storm situations to restore service promptly.
  • Be available for call-out at all times, including emergency or storm restoration in other areas.

  • Work with external and internal customers to ensure service quality.
  • Temporarily assume Supervisor's duties in their absence.
  • Review daily outages and monitor TACTICS and reliability issues for the Network.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate Degree or higher preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of transmission/distribution line, substation, or project experience.
  • Strong knowledge of computers and related technology.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to understand directives and complete tasks effectively.
  • Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities under pressure.
