About the position

The Operations Data Analyst position at Stanford Health Care is a full-time role that supports various operational and patient service initiatives within the organization. This position plays a crucial role in assisting international visitors who are considering utilizing Stanford Health Care services, acting as a Patient Advocate while also functioning as a Business, Data, and Operations Analyst. The role is designed to be flexible, adapting to the evolving needs of the organization and department as they grow. In this position, the analyst will determine the operational objectives of the department through comprehensive information gathering and analysis. This involves evaluating output requirements and formats to improve departmental processes, policies, and procedures. The analyst will recommend modifications based on current practices and will be responsible for identifying problems and writing improved procedures for program and project controls. Collaboration is key in this role, as the analyst will work with project teams to define project requirements, establish budgets, and monitor project progress. This includes tracking activities, resolving issues, and publishing progress reports. The analyst will also maintain departmental processes by writing and updating policies and procedures, providing help desk support, and training users. Additionally, the role involves preparing IMS reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing financial data, volume data, and quality and safety metrics. The analyst will contribute to team efforts by performing various analyses, developing and maintaining databases, and providing business operations support. They will also coordinate patient-related services, offering information and support to help patients navigate the Stanford Health Care system. The position requires a strong understanding of the healthcare industry, cultural awareness, and the ability to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Determine operational objectives by studying information gathering analysis and evaluating output requirements.
  • Improve departmental processes, policies, and procedures by studying current practices and recommending modifications.
  • Recommend program and project controls by identifying problems and writing improved procedures.
  • Collaborate in defining project requirements, milestones, phases, and elements; form project teams and establish project budgets.
  • Monitor project progress by tracking activity, resolving problems, and publishing progress reports.
  • Maintain department processes by writing and updating policies and procedures.
  • Provide references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation, providing help desk support, and training users.
  • Assist with the preparation of IMS reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Perform analysis and develop and maintain databases.
  • Provide business operations support and coordination.
  • Coordinate patient-related services and offer information and advice to patients.
  • Solve department information problems and requirements by analyzing requirements and recommending controls.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Five (5) years of related/relevant experience in Administration, Health Care Operations/Patient Financial Services, Systems and/or International Relations.
  • Cultural awareness and sensitivity to diverse cultures.
  • Ability to demonstrate cultural competence.
  • Strong business communication skills (verbal, written, influencing, listening, presentations).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with the healthcare industry, trends, applications, operations, and systems.
  • Understanding of International Relations.
  • Ability to work and thrive in a dynamic, team-oriented work environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
