About the position

The Operations Data Analyst will be responsible for analyzing operations data to enhance shop operations, managing scheduling software to generate production plans, and collaborating with management to develop operational strategies. The role involves conducting performance evaluations to identify improvement opportunities and effectively communicating insights to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, organize, and analyze operations data and communicate insights to the operations team and company leaders.
  • Formulate the scheduling strategy to achieve on-time delivery targets.
  • Utilize scheduling software to simulate various scenarios and recommend strategic approaches for decision-makers.
  • Communicate the pros and cons of schedules and associated risks with internal stakeholders.
  • Operate scheduling tools like TACTIC and ERP systems like Epicor to create operations schedules.
  • Identify data issues and areas for training, partnering with operations teams to support training initiatives.
  • Track the success of tools and processes through the creation and monitoring of KPIs and dashboards.
  • Collaborate effectively with partners and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of total experience.
  • 2+ years of data analyst, business operations, intelligence, or analysis experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Knowledge of business analytics best practices and tools such as Visio or Lucid Charts.
  • Experience with ERP or CRM systems, scheduling software, and a strong understanding of production metrics and KPIs.
  • Experience with SQL, Excel, and PowerBI or other BI-related tools, including designing and operationalizing analytical dashboards.
  • Exposure to a wide range of business issues across IT, Operations, and Finance.
  • BA/BS in a STEM or business-related discipline.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with a scheduling system.
  • Operations research background.
  • Project management experience, preferably in business or IT-related projects.
  • Previous consulting or investment banking experience.
  • Experience in manufacturing, especially at job shops.
  • Proven experience in assessing and implementing IT solutions.
  • Knowledge of Python or other programming languages.
  • MS in STEM or MBA.
