About the position

We are seeking a Data Analyst/Engineer to join our team at Greythorne Associates. This role focuses on leveraging expertise in data analytics and engineering to optimize processes and support the firm's operational goals, particularly in daily trading operations. The position aims to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our trading systems through streamlined and transparent workflows.

Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth and efficient trade execution by enhancing and maintaining systems to track trade settlement, automate processes, and resolve breaks and settlement issues.
• Provide regular performance reports and analysis to senior management, ensuring data accuracy and delivering actionable insights.
• Collaborate with IT and trading teams to manage the firm's trading systems, ensuring data integrity, uptime, and smooth operations.
• Identify and implement workflows that improve efficiency in trading and operations processes, reducing operational risks.
• Support the onboarding of new traders and manage account setups, ensuring systems are properly configured to handle trading operations.
• Collaborate with clearing firm and brokers to maintain data flow, ensuring smooth communication and issue resolution.
• Serve as a backup to key team members and provide support for operational needs as required.
• Lead initiatives related to system implementation, process improvement, and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Data Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in data engineering or data science, preferably in a financial services or trading environment.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and other relevant data analysis or engineering tools.
• Experience with data visualization tools and frameworks.
• Strong understanding of trading systems, financial markets, and risk management.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with a focus on troubleshooting operational and system issues.
• Attention to detail, with a commitment to maintaining data accuracy and integrity.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
